Bio:

N.J. Amar, M.D. graduated from medical school and did his post graduate studies in India.  He completed his residency at Downstate Medical School in New York.  The Allergy Fellowship was completed in Pediatrics at Rutgers Medical School in New Jersey and Internal Medicine at Columbia University in New York City.

Dr. Amar is board certified by both The American Board of Pediatrics and The American Board of Allergy & Immunology.  He is a Fellow of The American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (FAAAAI) and The American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI).  In addition, he is certified by the ACRP as a Certified Physician Investigator (CPI).  He is a member of the McLennan County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, The American Medical Association and the above specialty associations.

He excelled through out his life and career by winning awards for being the top of his district in high school and was awarded 3 gold medals in medical school and post graduate studies for being the top of his class.

He was elected by his peers to the included in the Best Doctors in America awards program and was elected to America's Top Physicians.

Dr. Amar comes from a family of physicians beginning with his father, his wife, both children, 5 siblings and their spouses.

Dr. Amar has been practicing medicine in Waco since 1982.  He practiced as a solo physician in Waco for 24 years and recently welcomed two well qualified associates who share his philosophy of treating patients with compassion, respect, and fairness.

Ten years ago he started the research center for the advancement of treatments in his specialty and has conducted almost 100 clinical trials and has authored or co-authored a number of papers.
